You are what you eat

You are what you eat

When we talk about preparing for parenthood and pregnancy, we would be remiss if we didn't include taking care of yourself. Over the next few blogs, we are going to take a look at some of the best foods you can be eating before and during pregnancy.

Recovery: it takes time and patience

Recovery: it takes time and patience

Overestimate postpartum recovery time! Seriously, like waaaay overestimate. Postpartum medical care generally ends after the six-week checkup, and hormones have usually evened out by that point. But studies have shown that it can take six months to a year to fully recover (physically and mentally) from childbirth. According to a study by researchers at the University of Michigan’s School of Nursing, it can take over eight months for pelvic floor recovery alone!

Me, Myself, and I- Take a TIMEOUT for you!

In this parenting series, we talked about how important establishing support is. There are many reasons for this, including the fact that in order for you to be the healthiest and best parent you can be, you need "you time". Preparing for Parenthood: Support is Vital

Preparing for parenthood series...Don't go it alone!

You. Are. Only. One. Person. And I say that in the most loving way possible! You can't be and do everything. Support during this time is very important and establishing this before the baby is born will make all the difference in the world. Today we are going to talk about the value in connecting with and having a parenting plan with your partner. Married or not, you did not get pregnant on your own. The two of you will be and should be parenting together (we will talk in another post about what to do if the father is not involved).
